You know how there’s that time of year where it’s cold, but not that cold? I think most people call that Autumn or Fall. BUT, as I grew up in Australia where there were preeeeeeetty much only two seasons, I’m not used to this cold-but-not-super-cold business. I’m serious, Autumn and Spring would only last two weeks max.
Now that I live in Europe I keep finding myself starting to feel the chill of Autumn and thinking, “oh I’ll just pull out my winter gear cos it’s probably gonna drop below 0C in a couple of days”… and then one month later I’m either sweatin’ like a cornered nun, or freezing in inadequate summer clothing.
Anyway, this year I got my shit together and crocheted a warm, but not too warm scarf… with a triangle pattern… OoooooOOOOoooh!
It’s made out of 100% cotton yarn, so it’s pretty breathable and is good for those chilly days where you need to keep warm on the way to work. It really sits well with coats, but also it’s one of those scarves that you can just keep wearing even if you’re indoors.
Hope you like it!
Oh and if there are any other Aussies out there who are now living in Europe and feel like 99% of their energy is spent trying to get used to the weather differences over here – say hello! Maybe we can start a support group?
Everyone is warning me that this winter is going to be a very cold and long one. So that means it’s time to get prepared! A request from a friend to make a nice and warm beanie led to the creation of the Snow Dot Beanie.
The little white dots were Gosia’s idea and the snow like decoration is so cute.
Made out of thick and warm navy blue yarn that is 65% wool and 35% alpaca this will surely keep Gosia nice and warm whatever happens this winter!
You know, when I was a little girl I always hated pink. I hated pastels. Was that just a 90s thing? Some sort of I-only-listen-to-the-Smashing-Pumpkins-and-god-help-you-if-you-give-me-a-barbie grunge angst thing?
I dunno. But anyway, these days I am in LOVE with pink and pastels. Did this change happen to anyone else when they grew up? Maybe it’s just cos these colours remind me of delicious cupcakes. Or maybe it’s because they feel so fresh, clean and calming.
Because of my new found love of pink, and because I thought that winter wear needs some colour, I decided to crochet this beauty. Check out my new Cupcake Beanie! Made out of ecru coloured cotton yarn with a pink coloured pom pom and edging this beanie really brightens up those cold winter days.
What do you think? Cute, right? You can get your hands on one of these babies for a measly €15! ALSO, customisations are welcome. For example you can request a peach coloured pom pom and edging in place of the pink. Or light blue would work really nice as well!
